Community Awareness Program

Imagine the potential impact of a society where women are socially and economically acquainted. JCF’s Community Awareness program is about enlightening and enhancing the thought process of women living in poor conditions. This helps them in building an attitude to deal with everyday situations, issues, to take important decisions of life and most importantly believing in themselves.

The moto of our community awareness program is the development of their social skills through group activities like community meetings, door to door survey, Nukkadnatak, rallies, Road shows and community counseling.

According to UNICEF data 42% males justify wife beating and 47% females justify wife beating in India.

JCF Community Awareness program is step-by-step process which starts from entering a community to making bridges between beneficiaries on the one hand and government agencies, legal advisors, and other women centric agencies on the other.

PROCESS-FLOW
ENTERING COMMUNITY:Survey of the targeted locality such as villages,slum and poorly developed areas.
INTERACTION WITH COMMUNITY:Awareness campaigns, seminars, workshops.
APPOINT COMMUNITY LEADER:Appointing a person from within the community as representative of JCF
TRAINING COMMUNITY LEADER:Training the representative/leader about social issues and remedies.
COMMUNITY LEADER IDENTIFIES VICTIMS/BENEFICIARIES:The representative keeps an eye on the community and reaches the person in need.
COUNSELING OF VICTIM/BENEFICIARY:The person in need is given counseling at JCF
REFERRED TO APPROPRIATE AGENCY:If required, the victim is referred to Government agencies like DCW for further support

Community Awareness Program is no less important than any of JCF’s programs. The process of empowering women starts within the women itself.We motivate women beneficiaries to become the community leader to help others in developing their social and economic skills. This program covers entire north west region of Delhi including eight JJ colonies and four villages.

JCF’s Community Awareness Program undertakes various activities in villages and other poorly developed areas, where the awareness among women is almost non-existent. The entire life of a woman in such areas gets just limited to social boundaries, restricting women from stepping into outside world. Keeping all the views in mind JCF is consistently working in the direction of women empowerment through community awareness and engagement program.
